We just started a series called Leaving a Legacy. We showed a video this past week and asked two questions:
1) How has Mt. View left a legacy already in your life or the life of your family?
2) What legacy do you believe Mt View is to leave our future generations?
I'd love to hear your thoughts on these two questions. Please just post a reply by clicking on the pencil icon. Thanks!

I see Mt. View's legacy every time I come to church. The youth of Mt. View give me hope for the future of our church and our country. I have been in churches, remnants of once thriving churches, that were bereft of young people and children. These churches were all but dead. I hear the negative comments about young people and the bleak future of our country these days, but when I see the Mt. View Youth I have hope. Mt. View Youth are fearless! When asked to completely take over an entire Sunday service; providing musical acompaniment, special singing, prayers and even the sermon they do not hesitate, nor are they ashamed to serve God openly and without fear. They serve in so many ways behind the scenes. Taking care of the younger children, ushering and keeping the audio-visual parts of the service running. Who is usually setting up and taking down the chairs and tables in the new building when we have a meal or special event? While some of us may have been trying to avoid this menial chore I've seen the youth do it many times without complaint. They also have a huge involement in mission work. After seeing them really connecting with the target audience on the recent Memphis trip we should be so hopeful. Mt. View's future is bright.

ReplyDeletei know that the youth of mt view are very involved and i am thankful for that. we as adults need to step up to make sure that the youth see us involved even more. this is a generation to generation happening, if our youth see us involved, then thier youth will see them involved, etc., the church body will continue to grow. i am very thankful that the kids are involved at church vs. the many things of the world they could be involved in. i wish i was at church when i was growing up, probably could have prevented alot of heartache and stress
